YAY it's the Weekend

Is everyone like me and is so happy that it is FINALLY Friday.  Whew... what a week it has been.  I thought this day would never come.  It has been a great start to the weekend... or maybe it is because I had a half day!  I got to do a little shopping, which I haven't really had time for recently.  I got the cutest new yellow purse... love.  My new computer tablet came in the mail, and I don't know what I am doing but I have the WHOLE weekend to figure it out!

A New Spin on Cupcakes

There is something about the month of May that screams "BIRTHDAY".  There are several of my friend's that have birthday's this month, so why prepare this great cone cake than the traditional dessert that everyone is used to.  This is a cute recipe that can also be used for any occasions.  I just love this simple twist on dessert.

Instructions for baking the delicious treats

Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.

Make cake batter as directed on box. Fill each cup 2/3 full of batter (1 heaping tablespoon each). Place ice cream cone upside down on batter in each cup.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean (cones may tilt on batter). Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Remove paper baking cups. Generously frost cake with frosting, and decorate as desired. Store loosely covered.

I just found the cutest idea for making your porch look super cute.  This is a great craft that you can make just in time for summer, and not to mention a great conversational piece.  It looks fairly simple as well, as all you need are the following items:

1 Pallet

2 Large Bags of Potting Soil

16 six packs of annuals or any other plants you would like

1 roll of landscape fabric

Staple gun

Sand paper

Mum's the Word

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOM'S.

I hope that everyone is enjoying their time with their Mother's on this special day!  I had to work in the store all day, but my mother decided to pay me a visit, which means one thing ... help her with her blog! Later the rest of the family and I are going to meet up and take the woman of the day out to dinner.  Let's hope all goes well tonight and we all behave! 

Where the Heart is

This weekend is is all about mom's and for me, it is no different!  They say that you are or eventually will be like your mother... and well it's scary but it is oh so true. As much as I try to fight it, I have to admit that I do have some of the same interest as my mother.  It has taken me a while to realize this and me getting older to see, that yes some time's my mom does have good taste!  My sister and I have a big weekend ahead of u to make our special mother, feel like a queen!

A Wall of Art

I think I have found my new obsession, chalk board paint!  Its GREAT!  You can put it almost anywhere and turn something boring into a working piece of art that is constantly changing.  I recently painted my pantry door and have been enjoying doodling grocery lists, recipes, and many other forget me not notes.  There are endless possibilities with this craft and the list could go on....
